The Institute for Social Studies and Research at the University of Tehran invites scholars, researchers, and professionals to submit evidence-based research notes for publication on our official website. We seek concise, impactful contributions that offer fresh insights into contemporary social issues, grounded in empirical research.

Scope and Topics

We welcome research notes that address, but are not limited to, the following areas:

Rural Studies

  • Dynamics of rural-urban migration and its socio-economic impacts
  • Agricultural practices and rural livelihoods
  • Rural development policies and their effectiveness
  • Social structures and community life in rural settings
  • Environmental challenges and sustainable practices in rural areas

Urban and Regional Studies

  • Urbanization trends and their social implications
  • Housing, infrastructure, and urban planning
  • Regional development and spatial inequalities
  • Social stratification and urban poverty
  • Impact of globalization on urban communities

Biological Anthropology

  • Human adaptation to environmental changes

Social Studies of Tehran

  • Social dynamics and cultural transformations in Tehran

  • Policy analysis and social interventions in Tehran

Submission Guidelines

  • Length: Manuscripts should be between 1,000 and 3,000 words.
  • Format: Submissions must be in Microsoft Word format.
  • Citation Style: All sources must be cited in accordance with the APA citation style.
  • Review Process: All submitted research notes will undergo a review process to ensure the quality and relevance of the content. Selected submissions will be published directly on the Institute's official website.

Submission Instructions

Please submit your research notes via email isr.ut1958@gmail.com to Ensure that your submission includes:

  • A title page with the title of the research note, your name, institutional affiliation, and contact information.
  • A brief abstract (200–300 words) summarizing the key findings and contributions of the research note.
  • Please note that researchers are required to submit both the English and Persian versions of their research notes.
