Inauguration Ceremony Held for the New Director of the Institute for Social Studies and Research

The inauguration ceremony of Dr. Hossein Imani Jajarmi as the new Director of the Institute for Social Studies and Research was held on Wednesday, April 15, 2025, in the meeting hall of the Institute. The event was attended by the Vice President for Research of the University of Tehran, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, faculty deputies, and several heads of academic departments.

Dr. Gholamreza Ghaffari, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, opened the session by recounting the Institute's history, paying tribute to Dr. Ehsan Naraqi as its first director. He stated:

"The Institute’s pioneering researchers laid its scholarly foundation through tireless efforts. The intrinsic link between education and research necessitates stronger collaboration between the Faculty and the Institute. We aspire to fortify this synergy to advance both academic rigor and societal impact."

Dr. Manouchehr Moradi Sabzevari, Vice President for Research at the University of Tehran, emphasized social sciences' pivotal role in addressing societal challenges:

"Social sciences not only deepen our understanding of complex issues but also provide actionable strategies for policymaking and improving quality of life. Today, more than ever, we must prioritize applied social research to respond to Iran’s dynamic needs."

"This archival project will preserve our institutional legacy, offering future generations of researchers both a scholarly compass and inspiration for innovative approaches to contemporary social issues. We envision it enriching Iran’s research literature while bridging historical wisdom with modern methodologies."

Dr. Hossein Imani Jajarmi, the newly appointed Director, underscored the interdependence of research and education:

"Social research thrives when aligned with pedagogical missions and community needs. I invite all faculty and scholars to submit policy-relevant, innovative proposals that address national concerns. The Institute stands ready to support projects driving social transformation and indigenous knowledge production."
